Troca de Família

South America is best known for its novelas, it also has produced some interesting reality shows, often local adaptations of foreign reality shows. While doing some research, and by this I mean watching YouTube for many hours, I happen to come across this brazilian show called "Troca De Familia,” a Brazilian adaptation of the American show, in which wives (and sometimes husbands) switch families for a week to gain some perspective on their own family. The first thought that came to my mind is,"This is amazing" and than I really tried to see if I understood the language. I speak Spanish and Portuguese is much like spanish, but I still did not understand fully.The show "Troca de Familia" is a great glimpse into Brazilian culture and the vast socioeconomic and regional divides that exist in Brazil.

The show is produced and aired by R7, which is a main channel in Brazilian Television and goes on every Tuesday at 7PM. Troca de Familia target audience is to family woman. In their website, you see many things aimed to mothers and working woman who want to know how different families function. I saw only three episodes but I could tell it was much like Wife Husband Swap where after spending time with a different family, you miss your own and learn how to appreciate what you have, I enjoyed it very much.
